A marking inspired by real-life birds. It covers the end of feathers and gives them a darker outline with an optional lighter inside almost like Rosette or Clouded Leopard.

Colors and Edges
As mentioned above, Shield can be pretty similar to Rosette and Clouded Leopard, having an outer line and color filling the inside.
– Outer Line
The color must be darker than the base. The outside edge must be hard edged, while the inner edge may be either hard- or soft-edged:
Example 1 – Both inner and outer part of the outer line are hard-edged
Example 2 – The outer part of the outer line is hard edged while the inside is soft-edged
– Inner filling
The inner filling must be lighter than the base and be soft-edged:

Ranges
Max Range:
Shield may cover the whole body, as long as the other markings are all still good to see and color pick!
Minimum Range:
Shield has no distinct minimum range, but must be present in a noticeable way on the beast.
