The story begins here
The Summer began even before Spring had fully retired for the season; the sun was rising higher and the heat was increasing. Clearly, Hasswei was in a better mood and the energy from his happiness was causing an early Summer – much to the chagrin of Enlil, as the green world was growing brown from the constant heat and lack of rain. Something Hathar will hear about soon enough, most likely.
But for many, Summer is a welcomed season. Herds are moving once more to populate once desolate areas, there isn’t much changes to the warmer regions of Prehistoria, and the Spring babies are experiencing their first migration. Summer celebrations are prepared and planned, and many settlements are stocking food and wood for the inevitable cold snap that seems to draw closer faster than the last.
And while spirits are as high as the sun, the merriment has not extended far and wide…

Start Quest
A jaunt through the forest to enjoy the coolness it offers, even as the heat persists well into the evening, has proven to become a rather eventful one. Where the shadows converged to make a near pitch-black area, you and your beast stumble across a small and well hidden campsite.
It’s clear the individuals here did not wish to be found as they are whispering under their breaths and their campsite itself is small; easy to pack up if they were ever to be discovered. Most unusual is what little you can make of their hushed conversation. They speak of a village that isn’t far from where you are right now, supposedly brimming with riches as they had made good dealings with the Rahutu before their departure for the Summer.

Depict you and your beast walking through the forest and stumbling upon the hidden campsite, or eavesdropping on their conversation, or illustrate the beginning of this quest.

Path 1 – Quest 1:
Even though you only heard parts of the conversation, it is clear that these individuals are planning to rob the nearby village.
Feeling it to be your duty to warn them, you decide to turn away and warn the villagers of the thieves ─ but first, you must sneak away without being noticed!

Depict you and your beast agreeing to help warn the village of the thieves or show them sneaking away from the campsite, or illustrate this part of the quest.

Path 1 – Quest 2:
After a few close calls, you and your beast finally reach the village. There are only a few guards awake at the time and are clearly wary when you approach. You inform them of the would-be thieves planning to rush them and steal their riches but they seem… Suspicious.
It quickly becomes clear that some of the guards don’t believe you, and those that do, have doubts that you are innocent. Before they are willing to believe you, you need to prove they can trust you.

Depict you and your Beast talking to some of the guards still awake or showing proof that you aren’t part of the thieves (whether by showing them where the thieves are hiding, or something else), or illustrate this part of the quest

Path 1 – Quest 3:
Though you have given ample proof to the guards that you are not, in fact, part of the thieves, they still wake up the Chief to inform them of the planned theft – as well as the proof that you are there only to help them. They, unlike the guards, are quick to believe you and ask for you and your beast’s help to help defend their riches.
And what better way than to set up a trap for the thieves? As the Chief rambles about how best to capture the thieves and deal with them, you and your beast can’t help but wonder… If maybe they are a little too excited about this…

Depict you and your Beast alking with the Chief on how best to apprehend the thieves or actively baiting and catching the thieves before they can steal their goods, or illustrate this part of the quest

Path 2 – Quest 1:
It’s not every day that you hear of a plan being set into motion; usually you only hear of robberies after the fact and hearing all of the things that had been stolen.
Not wanting to miss such a fine opportunity, you and your beast decide to offer your services to the thieves…

Depict you and your beast stepping out from their own hiding spot to speak with the thieves, or show them offering to help from the shadows without being seen, or illustrate this part of the quest.

Path 2 – Quest 2:
While the thieves weren’t thrilled at the idea of another joining them and having to split the riches even more, they weren’t about to turn down the offer of help for their own benefit.
As it turns out, all of the thieves had their own preference in what they wanted to do but none of them had volunteered to be the ones to actually steal. There were plenty of ‘look outs’ and ‘getting the stolen goods to safety’ volunteers, but none of the thieves wanted to actually go in and… Steal.
Which is quite the problem if they wanted to steal anything at all.

Depict your and your Beast with the thieves helping to plan out the heist. Do they take charge and re-appoint tasks to the thieves or do you volunteer yourself to do everything they don’t want to do? Or, illustrate this part of the quest

Path 2 – Quest 3:
The plan is finally complete; the thieves have their jobs and where they are meant to go in order to pull off the perfect heist. Everyone, yourself and your beast included, is giddy with excitement in this perfect plan and the riches you were all about to covet.
Only, there has been a slight oversight – even you were caught by surprise! It seemed while you, your beast, and the rest of the thieves had been planning, the village had already made preparations for would-be thieves. The traps were so well-planned that almost all thieves were swept up before and after.

Depict you and your Beast with the other thieves sneaking into the village to steal their riches or just as the traps started to trigger and capture the thieves (or yourself!), or illustrate this part of the quest.

Epilogue:
The traps were a success – mostly. Some of the thieves had managed to get away after stealing some of the wealth the village had tried to protect, but plenty more had been captured and were soon to face the consequences of their actions. Those that escaped were called lucky, but next time the village would be ready if they returned.
After a good deed is done – or a bad deed gone wrong – you and your beast are heading home. Empty handed… Or so you think. Where did you come from?
