Dima, the Baby Mammoth:
Beast that it’s applied to does not count towards the beast total in Seasonal Adventures. (Does not stack)
The story begins here:
The Wooly Mammoth.
One of the most extraordinary creatures to have walked the lands of Prehistoria since its creation. A huge giant with colossal strength, heavy tusks used for defense and foraging food, and thick fur to protect them from the stinging cold of the north.
Despite their great size, they were gentle giants whose very sight was enough to create respect in the people’s hearts when the herds walked on the frozen ground. Such respect that even the Great Arwii himself paid tribute to them by creating Mamota, God of Knowledge, in their image.
Nevertheless, they were not infallible. A colossus with feet of clay, they needed a lot of time to grow up, to gain strength and wisdom. And their calves were particularly fragile during their childhood.
Start Quest:
Snow crunches under your feet on your travel. Your footsteps had brought you to the north of Prehistoria, and in the distance, you could see the Seeing Stones. Above your head, the sky was heavy with snow clouds, and the wind was chilling.
As you head for the nearest forest for shelter, a distant cry stops you. It doesn’t take you long to find a mammoth calf. You notice that the calf was alone and probably calling for their mother as you look around.
The baby becomes frightened when you approach, and it takes you a lot of patience for them to calm down and explain their situation. A pride of Sabers had attacked their herd, and the calf had got separated from them in turmoil. Now they are alone and desperate.
Depict your beast finding the baby mammoth, listening to its story, or illustrate this part of the story.
Path 1 – Quest 1:
You couldn’t leave this little mammoth to its fate, so you decided to help them. You drew them to your side with a soft voice for a reassuring embrace while looking at the sky. It was now snowing heavily, and darkness was setting in all around.
After a few seconds of thinking, you decide to start the search the next day after a good night’s sleep. The baby mammoth nods at your proposal and follows you to the shelter you have chosen as a resting place.
Depict your beast comforting the baby mammoth, finding a shelter for the night, or illustrate this part of the story.
Path 1 – Quest 2:
Luck was on your side during the night, as no one came to disturb you.
When you opened your eyes, it was to see how much snow had fallen while you slept. This sight amazed the little mammoth that was gamboling beside you as you began your search.
After many hours of searching and making sure the little one was eating something, you finally found a trail. Snow, crushed and disturbed by the passage of a herd of mammoths.
Depict your beast searching with the baby, finding the trail, or illustrate this part of the story.
Path 1 – Quest 3:
It was with a renewed ardor that you walked in the trail of the herd. But despite the hope of a happy ending, you remain on your guard. You have smelled Sabers during your walk, so you must continue to protect the calf.
And they have been excited since the discovery of the tracks, and you must constantly call them back to keep them close to you.
The sun was finishing its race in the sky when you saw the herd of mammoths in the distance. Relieved, you let out a sigh and watch the little one tenderly as they reunite with their family.
Depict your beast finding the herd, watch the baby reunite with their family, or illustrate this part of the story.
Path 2 – Quest 1:
Around you, the atmosphere and the weather changed in the blink of an eye.
The sky became black with heavy threatening clouds; the wind began to blow with ardor, bringing with it packets of snow.
By instinct, you approach the small mammoth trembling with fear to bring them warmth and comfort. But, all around you was a chaos of flying snow, and visibility was almost zero. A blizzard has come, and you have to find shelter urgently before the both of you die of hypothermia.
Depict your beast reacting to the blizzard, finding an urgent shelter, or illustrate this part of the story.
Path 2 – Quest 2:
In the temporary shelter you found, the blizzard seemed to last forever. Nevertheless, you and the little mammoth are warm and have to wait for the elements to calm down.
And when the snow gave way to blue sky and bright sunshine, it was a relief. But as you emerge from your shelter to stretch, you realize your troubles aren’t over yet.
Many eye pairs are watching you and the little mammoth with keen interest. Sabers stand outside, probably the same pride that had attacked the mammoth herd. Their eyes fixed on the baby with a hungry gleam in their eyes.
Protect the little mammoth!
Depict your beast leaving the shelter, protecting the baby, or illustrate this part of the story.
Path 2 – Quest 3:
Despite your best efforts to keep the Sabers’ pride at bay, you soon realize that you are no match for them. The Saber-toothed felines were too numerous, and you were finding it increasingly difficult to keep them from reaching the little mammoth.
Running was the only solution now.
And just as you had this thought, you hear a mammoth’s cry in the distance. A cry to which the little one answered at once. The herd was not far away!
There was no time to lose. You and the baby rushed in the direction of the cry, the Sabers’ clan hot on your heels.
Fortunately, you didn’t take long to find the herd, and, in front of all those behemoths, the Sabers retreated.
Depict your running toward the cry, watching the Sabers running away, or illustrate this part of the story.
