The story begins here:
Since its rediscovery during a Bloodmoon Festival, the Amzi Undergrounds had rarely been visited by the Prehistorians. The stories that were told were enough to scare even the bravest of all. They were said to be haunted because of the indescribable whispering sounds that could be heard there and the many bones that lay on the ground. Thus, no one knew what had happened in these places, and they were avoided by mutual agreement.
Only Dreknar didn’t seem to be bothered by the sinister atmosphere of the Undergrounds. For those who lived nearby, it was a common sight to see the Lyti going in and out without anything happening to him.

Start Quest:
After his return during the Lifemating ceremony of the God Arwii and his mortal companion Kala, Dreknar had always been present in the lands of Prehistoria. Meeting mortals, stopping at tribes to regain his strength, or being seen in the distance walking towards a goal known only to him.
But after a while, it was as if the great Lyti had vanished. There was no trace of him; it was as if he had been a ghost…
Intrigued by this disappearance, your steps lead you to the Amaguq Desert where the nomadic Nogon Tribe lives. When you question them, one of their members tells you that he saw Dreknar enter the Amzi Undergrounds, but that he hasn’t come out since. Despite your fears and the warnings of the tribe, you decide to enter the Undergrounds and investigate.

Depict your beast asking the Nogon tribe, entering the Amzi Undergrounds, or illustrate this part of the story.

Path 1 – Quest 1:
At the first step you take in the Undergrounds, you are immediately seized by a deep uneasiness. A heavy silence had taken over the place, opacifying the sounds of nature outside. Only your footsteps reach your ears. You need a good dose of determination in order to continue your advance. Armed with a torch to break the darkness of the tunnels.
It doesn’t take long before you come across the first bones. Placed there messily, as if abandoned nonchalantly, you didn’t even manage to guess their origins. The impression of not being alone and being watched was almost unbearable, but no matter how much you turn and look around, you see no one.
After what seems like an eternity, your torch illuminates the walls of a new tunnel, and a painting immediately catches your attention. The morphology…the long horns…the ocelot markings and the bloodmark…it was Dreknar!
No doubt he had passed by this cave painting representing him!

Depict your beast traveling in the Undergrounds, discovering the cave painting, or illustrate this part of the story.

Path 1 – Quest 2:
After the discovery of the cave painting, you continued your advance with a redoubled ardor, without really looking around you. Although you have really forced yourself to continue with how frightened this place is making you.
Your steps lead you to a wide cave, which is a pleasant change from the narrow tunnels you just passed through. In this cave, Dreknar was standing. Reassured, you approach to join him. But just as you are about to call out to him, you immediately fall silent.
All around you, the walls of the cave were covered with paintings. But far from marveling you as the paintings decorating the Arwii’s Caves, these made you shiver with unease. They were silhouettes representing strange but nevertheless familiar beings. Drawn with aggressive strokes, like claws. With their mouths open, they all seemed frozen in nameless horror, their deformed and improbable bodies entangled on top of each other…

Depict your beast finding Dreknar, looking at the cave walls, or illustrate this part of the story.

Path 1 – Quest 3:
You feel a presence at your side, flanks gently touching yours, and your gaze meets Dreknar’s. The Lyti’s face was inexpressive, but his eyes were filled with a soft compassionate glow.
“This was where I was born.” Dreknar explained. “Where K’Malou The Banned created me. Me and the others.”
A shiver shakes your spine at this explanation. Your eyes look at the paintings again and the obvious becomes clear. All these figures…were Lytis and companions!
The clatter of Dreknar’s hooves pulls you out of your thoughts, and you have just enough time to see him disappear into a new, curiously brightly lit tunnel. You hasten to follow him to a new cave.
The light source came from the ceiling and the sun’s rays then illuminated a huge cave painting representing a woolly rhinoceros. Lightning bolts seemed to fly from its mane and tail, and it had a proud, divine posture…
“I painted this one…” The Lyti sighed. “They are now forgotten. But I’ve seen everything…”
Admiration turned to dread when you saw the blood-red ochre stain that covered the figure at their mouth. A bad feeling seized you…
“The Fallen Deity…The one that K’Malou killed.”

Depict your beast following Dreknar, looking at the Fallen Deity cave painting, or illustrate this part of the story.

Path 2 – Quest 1:
No sooner have you entered the Undergrounds with a torch than everything seems to lose its sense of direction. Every tunnel seems to be the same, you don’t remember where you came from and a heavy silence surrounds you. You sorely miss the sounds of nature.
Nevertheless, you are persistent and continue. Even when the first bones appear on the ground in front of you. The empty sockets of the abandoned skulls seem to follow your every move, which makes you uncomfortable.
Was it a game of your imagination? But soon, the silence that surrounds you is broken by indistinct noises. So low that you stop your advance to listen better.
They were whispers.

Depict your beast traveling the Undergrounds, hearing the whispers or illustrate this part of the story.

Path 2 – Quest 2:
Despite these creepy whispers all around, you keep going. And the deeper you go into the dark tunnels, the louder the whispers become in your ears. Becoming almost words or sentences that you can’t seem to fully grasp. But the tone became more and more desperate and…enraged?
The whispers accompany you during your travel, in rhythm with your heart that had begun to pound hard against your chest.
On your way, you find more and more bones, but also rough cave paintings which seemed to follow you with their painted eyes. You don’t stop to look at them. Where was Dreknar?
But soon, your advance was stopped by a dead end. And your torch raised to locate you makes you discover a heap of cave paintings drawn in haste, representing numerous species of living beings. And the red ochre which was smudged over these figures gave the impression that they were bleeding.

Depict your beast being scared of the whispers, discovering the dead end, or illustrate this part of the story.

Path 2 – Quest 3:
This terrifying vision was the last straw. Turning around, you decide to go back the way you came in order to get out of this awful place.
As if the sight of the cave paintings had been a trigger, you have the morbid impression of being followed and watched. Around you, you hear clattering on the rocky floor of the Undergrounds, as well as sounds of breathing. This, coupled with the whispers that surrounded you like storm clouds, fuelled your panic.
But finally, the vision of the Undergrounds entrance gives you back your courage, and soon you are outside breathing the dust filled air with delight.
“I’m sorry I scared you.” Says a voice right behind you.
Turning around, you immediately recognize Dreknar. The Lyti looked fine, but a little embarrassed, and you realize that it was him who was following you not long before.
“Were you looking for me? Sorry about that, I always lose track of time when I’m in there.” He explained, his ears low.
Dreknar’s gaze wandered for a few moments to the entrance of the Undergrounds before returning to you. With a determined look.
“Nevertheless, I have a task for you…”

Depict your beast leaving the Amzi Undergrounds, reuniting with Dreknar, or illustrate this part of the story.
