Misty is a marking that has multiple options on how it can be used on a design.
 
For the first option, it works quite similar to color mutations such as Maltese: the color of the base or special coat is changed and has to be taken from a new swatch. Instead of changing all ten (10) available coat colors to only one (1) however, Misty creates new swatches for each of them. Earth will turn into Misty Earth, Suntouched Fawn into Misty Suntouched Fawn for example.
 
The second option works similar to another marking too: Free Graying. Up to four (4) soft-edged, desaturated or gray patches are added on the design. While these patches can be as small or big as you want, they may not cover the entirety of the beast but should still be visible in some way!
Be careful when coloring your beasts’ leg with this option! Every time there is a clear break between (2) or more areas and they are not touching anymore they count as their own patch. When coloring the legs without connecting them (e.g. by adding color on the stomach) they will count as four (4) different patches and the limit is therefore reached!
 
Lastly, option 3 allows you to remove all saturation of colors on your beasts’ design. Be careful to only remove the saturation though, Hue and Value must stay the same! It also does not only affect the base coat, but also any markings going over the area you want to desaturate.
Like for option 2, the desaturation may be added in up to four (4) different patches spread throughout the design. They will always have a soft edge and blend in together with the other colors. While these patches can be as small or big as you want, they may not cover the entirety of the beast but should still be visible in some way!

Colors

Option 1 – Different coat color
When option 1 is chosen the new base coat color of the beast has to be taken from any of the three (3) swatches referencing its original base coat color (e.g. if a beast has a Twilight Night base coat color the swatches under “Misty Twilight” have to be used).

Option 2 – Desaturated / gray patches
For option 2 any desaturated or gray color is fine for the patches.

Option 3 – Desaturating
As option 3 removes all colors from any area of the design, desaturated parts have to be in grayscale.
