Roan
Roan is a marking that adds a lighter colored, textured blanket on the upper half of the beast.
It will never have a solid color like Sable or Sooty for example. Instead the general appearance resembles more a soft cloud which is slightly see through, which means you will always be able to see at least a little bit what lays benath it.
There is also the option to add small holes throughout the blanket, so called “cornspots”. They are optional though and do not have to be added!
Additionally, Dire Worgs have the option of a special kind of Roan: it will cover almost the entirety of the body and show the underlying design through large, symmetrical holes.
This marking was inspired by the roan coloration on horses, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!

Design Notes
Special Roan option for Dire Worgs
Using this option Roan may cover almost the entire design, even outside the official ranges. However, since it may not cover more than 80% of the design, there must be large, symmetrical holes added.
The edges of these holes may be textured, just like the regular Roan, or be hard-edged.
Generally, the appearance of Roan stays the same though: it has to keep its slightly see through quality.
