Lacing
Lacing is a marking that adds soft-edged, ligher collored latticed patches on the upper half of the beast. It will always start on the top and move down towards the underside.
Naturally, the patches should be covered in holes and breaks are allowes as well! Showing the marking on the head and the buttocks without having any connection between those two for example is a-okay!
There are multiple ways to design Lacing. One (1) option would be to use brushes for water reflection (those brushes are mostly created by other people, they can be found on deviantArt for example) or you create the holes manually. As long as all edges are soft and the marking is littered with holes to create the necessary latticed appearance it is good to go!
Similar to Dust, the outer edge does not have to be clearly visible and it is allowed to blend the edges fully so the transition between marking and base coat color is no longer discernable.
The color of it can be pure white (HEX: #FFFFFF, RGB: rgb(255,255,255)) but slightly off-white colors are okay too as long as it is still recognizable as white, looks natural and is not overly yellow or blue.
This marking was inspired by the lacing coloration on horses, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!

Colors
Lacing is relevant to and will always be lighter than the base coat color of the beast.
Alternatively, Lacing may be white as well, no matter the base coat color. This includes using pure white (HEX: #FFFFFF, RGB: rgb(255,255,255)) as well as slightly off-white colors as long as they are still recognizable as white, look natural and are not overly yellow or blue.
Feel free to use the following swatch one if you feel uncomfortable picking your own colors!
Please open the sta.sh link by clicking on the swatch and save the image, as taking colors from screenshots or copy and pasted versions might influence the colors. This often leads us to not being able to find the corresponding color on the swatch and we have to send your design to corrections!
Edges
Lacing must have a soft edge.
