Blotched (Uncommon Markings)

Blotched

BigDivider

Blotched is a marking that adds hard-edged, darker colored and very blotchy stripes and spots on the trunk of the beast.
Since this marking is based on stripes, be careful to not imitate Stripes by accident! A similar warning has to be given for the spots, they can easily look like Spotting so make sure they look like they are an extension of the stripes and not a marking of their own.
This marking was inspired by the special tail coloration on leopard geckos, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!

Colors

Blotched is relevant to the design and will always be or darker than the picked reference color.

If the design has Free White and it was chosen as relevant color for Botched, Blotched may only have grayscale colors. It cannot be used to add entirely different colors to your beast (e.g. blue-ish white color on a beast with Earth coat color)!

Edges

Blotched must have a hard edge.

Design Notes

Blotched vs Stripes
Blotched can very easily resemble Stripes so be careful when designing it! A good way to avoid this issue is to make the marking look a lot more blotchy for example. It is also allowed to add a few big spots in between (be careful to not imitate Spotting in this case!) or have it touching and fusing together.
