On this page you can find everything offsprings of Hathar, the God of Waters and Rain, may inherit from him. While some things such as the special markings, mutation and the Tail can only be inherited and have to be in the geno to be added to your Import, other things such as the Halo or special coloration of Stripes, Spotting or Pangare can be added to every official offspring of Hathar.
The following can only be inherited / used by direct offsprings of Hathar:
– Stripes and Spotting Special Case
– Pangare Special Case
– Halo
The following can be passed down from generation to generation as long as it is present in the parents’ geno:
– Typhoon
– Mertail
– Reef
– Scales
Special Marking Mutation: Typhoon
Typhoon is a marking mutation that adds wave or water-like patterns on the beasts’ body.
Despite the name suggesting the marking must be shown as some sort of crashing wave, it is allowed to make it look like a different type of water as well! This includes flowing rivers, small waves, a calm water surface and much more. The marking can be as simple or complex as you like!
The marking may have multiple colors, however, they must be the colors of water like blues, teals, whites, and blue-greens.
Additionally, all types of edges are allowed for this marking and can be mixed together. A crashing wave for example might have a hard-edge for the water itself, but a textured and soft edge for the spray of water at the top.
All markings that are present in the phenotype are mandatory and have to be added to the design.
This marking was inspired by waves, the ocean and water in general, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!
Relevant to: –
Value: Blue, Teal, White, Bluish-Green
Edge: Soft, Textured (Soft), Hard or Textured (Hard)
Breaks: Yes
Holes: Yes
Layering: Designer’s choice
Hides other genes: Yes
Colors
Typhoon must use colors relevant to water, like blue, teal, white or bluish-green. It is allowed to mix those colors as you see fit to create a more realistic appearance.
Edges
Typhoon allows for any type of edge. The edges have to be consistent throughout the whole design though! If you started with soft edges you must use soft edges for all patches.

Ranges
Maximum Range
Typhoon has no distinct maximum range but should not cover more than 70% of the beast.
Minimum Range
Typhoon has no distinct minimum range, but must be present in a noticeable way on the beast.
Good examples:
Special Phyical Mutation: Mertail
The Mertail is a physical mutation that can be passed down from Hathar or any beast that has it themselves. It can be combined with any other mane mutation as well as the Bearded and Draft mutations.
Special Rare Marking: Reef
Reef is a marking that adds one (1) or more coral shaped patterns on the beasts’ body. Any type of coral (e.g. Staghorn or Lettuce Leaf Corals) may be used to create this marking.
As for colors, any is permissible as long as it is a bright one! You can achieve a nice brightness using filters such as luminosity, color dodge, and linear dodge. Some look better than others, so make sure you choose one that looks right.
The color must be the same throughout the whole design nor is it possible to create a gradient by using multiple shades of the same color.
While the patterns may fade into the base coat, Reef will always have a hard edge.
This marking was inspired by the different types of corals, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!

Colors
Reef allows for any color to be used, no matter the base coat, as long as it is a bright one. You can achieve a nice brightness using filters such as luminosity, color dodge, and linear dodge. Some look better than others, so make sure you choose one that looks right.
Edges
Reef must have a hard edge.

Special Rare Marking: Scales
Scales is a marking that adds lighter or daker colored, very spotty or scaled-like patterns on the beasts’ body. While it can appear in most areas, some are off-limits, such as the muzzle, mane and tail and the backside of the lower legs.
No matter how the patterns are added (manually or with brushes), they must look like scales in some way.
Additionally, there is the option to add iridescence by adding a desaturated or slightly more saturated color on top of the pattern.
This marking was inspired by scales found on fishes or reptiles, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!
Relevant to: Base
Value: Lighter or Darker
Edge: Hard or Textured (Hard)
Breaks: Yes
Holes: No
Can be white: No
Layering: Designer’s choice
Hides other genes: No
Colors
Scales is relevant to and will always be lighter or darker than the base coat color of the beast. Additionally, iridescence may be added by using a desaturated or slightly more saturated color.
Edges
Scales must have either a hard edge or be textured with a hard edge.

Good examples:
Special Case: Stripes and Spotting
If the offspring inherited the Stripes and / or Spotting Marking the stripes / spots may be very bright and colorful:
– Allowed hues: blue, purple, orange, yellow and green.
– Stripes / spots may be two-toned as long as the colors are taken from the list above.
– It is possible to give the stripes / spots a slight glow as well.
The rest is just like the normal Stripes and Spotting Marking:
Uncommon Marking: Stripes
Uncommon Marking: Spotting
Good examples:
Special Case: Pangare
If the offspring inherited the Pangare Marking it may have a desaturated blue color:
– It is allowed to make Pangare two-toned with the chosen blue and the original pangare color.
– The blue chosen must be lighter than the base coat and blend nicely with the original pangare color in this case though.
The rest is just like the normal Pangare Marking:
Common Marking: Pangare

Misc
The following attributes may be present on any official, direct offspring of Hathar, as they are not written into the official geno.
Halo
Halos surround your beast on its Import, making it stand out a bit more before the background. The only halos permitted in Prehistoria-ARPG are soft ones; hard-edged “outlines” will not be accepted.
Any direct offspring of Hathar may have a blue colored halo.
