Speckles (Rare Markings)

Speckles

BigDivider

Speckles is a marking that adds tiny, lighter or darker colored and hard-edged spots on the beasts’ body. Generally, the size of them should not be bigger than the beasts’ pupil to avoid having them look too much like Spotting.
The spots may be ticked in appearance and can show anywhere on the body. They should not clump together or form galaxy / star-like pattern however, which is why star brushes should not be used to create them!
Be careful when adding spots that are on the bigger side, it should not imitate the look of Vitiligo!
The color of it can be pure white (HEX: #FFFFFF, RGB: rgb(255,255,255)) but slightly off-white colors are okay too as long as it is still recognizable as white, looks natural and is not overly yellow or blue.

Colors

Speckles is relevant to the design and will always be lighter or darker than the picked reference color.
Alternatively, Speckles may be white as well, no matter the base coat color. This includes using pure white (HEX: #FFFFFF, RGB: rgb(255,255,255)) as well as slightly off-white colors as long as they are still recognizable as white, look natural and are not overly yellow or blue.
Feel free to use the following swatch one if you feel uncomfortable picking your own colors!

Please open the sta.sh link by clicking on the swatch and save the image, as taking colors from screenshots or copy and pasted versions might influence the colors. This often leads us to not being able to find the corresponding color on the swatch and we have to send your design to corrections!

If the design has Free White and it was chosen as relevant color for Speckles, Speckles may only have grayscale colors. It cannot be used to add entirely different colors to your beast (e.g. blue-ish white color on a beast with Earth coat color)!

Design Notes

Speckles vs Spotting
While both Speckles and Spotting are markings which add spots to the design, there is one (1) key difference: the size.
Spotting must have at least the size if the beasts’ eye, whereas Speckles is much, much smaller, at most around the size of the beasts’ pupil.
