Garter (Uncommon Markings)

Garter

BigDivider

Garter is a marking that adds a lighter or darker colored, hard-edged blanket on top of the beast.
This blanket may not have any holes or be broken up into multiple pieces and show only on the head and the rump for example! If the majority of it shows in different, far away places on the beast, there needs to be some sort of connection between them.
Optionally there is the possibility to add a stripe on top of the blanket. The stripe is equally lighter or darker than the base coat color and does not have to be relative to the blanket. Neither is there any rule concerning whether the blanket is darker and the stripe lighter or vise versa.
However, the stripe has to stay within the blankets’ area and may not follow the bottom edge, which only Badger may do, nor the back to avoid it imitating Dun.

Design Notes

The Garter stripe
Generally, the Garter stripe is optional and does not have to be added!
It has the same hard edge as the blanket and will always have a lighter or darker color relevant to the base coat color too.
If it is added to the design, be careful where to place it. It cannot follow the lower edge of the Garter blanket as this is only allowed for Badger nor can it follow the back as it would imitate Dun. However, if the stripe touches the back only in a few places and does not follow it like Dun would, it is passable again.
