Rosette
Rosettes is a marking that adds medium sized, lighter colored and hard-edged spots which are framed by darker colored, hard-edged circular stripes or small spots on the beasts’ body.
The lighter base spots can be found anywhere on the body and must be at least as big as the beasts’ eye.
These spots will always be framed by darker colored stripes or spots, similar to Ocelot, creating small ringlets. They do not have to fully surround the base spots and may break up into multiple stripes, leaving some space where the edge of the underlying lighter colored patch can be seen. Both the lighter colored base spots as well as the dark colored stripes / spots should not be bigger than roughly the size of the beast’s ear!
Additionally, smaller spots of the same darker color may be added to the inside of the ringlets.
While every base spot must be encircled it is allowed to add the ringlets anywhere on the design without having the lighter color as filling!
It is permissible to add small spots of the same color as the dark striping throughout the design and inbetween the different patches, however, be careful to keep them at a minimum as it is very easy to imitate Spotting or Speckles with them!
This marking was inspired by the rosettes coloration found on Jaguars or Leopards, feel free to take them as inspiration if you have troubles designing your beast!
