Welcome!
You’re ready to send your beast on some activities to get some loot? Have a look at this page to get all the information you need in order to send your friend on an expedition trip.
Expeditions are one of the three (3) special activities Prehistoria-ARPG offers. However, unlike our regular and other special activities, expeditions do not take place on the main continent of Prehistoria. Instead they are spread out over multiple islands you need to unlock with certain items first. We will go more into details further below in the section “The Islands”! All islands were first found by the Rahutu Clan, which also takes care of getting all beasts to and down from the different places. The Lore behind each island can be found on the Islands Lore page linked on our World of Prehistoria page while informations on the Rahutu Clan can be found on their Clan page as well!
The Islands
In this part you can find a list of all islands we already uncovered and those we still have to find! You will get to know the name, the item you need in order to unlock the island for your beasts, the island’s biome(s) and some more information.
Native species refers to our official in game species such as Sabers, Dire Worgs, etc. There are plenty of other creatures living on the islands (like lizards, snakes, insects, birds and so on) but we wanted to add this details so players can have their beasts originate from somewhere else besides the main continent (Beware: making your beast originating from one of the islands does not give them a free pass! They will still need to have the correct items equipped in order to unlock the islands.).
Maps of the different islands including descriptions of the different places of interest can be found on our Places of Interest page.

To increase your chances at better loot you can also apply different kinds of bonuses to your beast:
– Reaching Harmony Rank 3 with your beasts unlocks the Legendary Resilience Trait, which gives a higher chance at rarer items. More information about Ranks can be found in our Harmony Rank Guide.
– Spirit Trials can boost the rarity of your loot as well. The different Trials can be found on our Trials Guide page under “Spirit Trials”.
– Companions can have various types of bonuses and can be found on our Companion page under “Expeditions”, “Events”, “Quests”, “Overflowing Treasure Chest” and “Misc”.
– Traits can have various types of bonuses as well, just like Companions. They can be found on our Traits page.
– Tack are items, that can be applied directly to the beast and give it a permanent bonus. These can be found on our Item page under “Tack”.
– One time use items on the other hand can only be used once and are added to the activity itself, not the beast. You can find them on our Item page under “One time use”.
Required form in your entries’ description:
Import:
Tracker:
Nicknames (Literature only):
Attempt to tame a Wild: Yes / No
Relevant Items / Bonuses: (Make sure to list bonuses that affect all beasts in every form. If it is missing the beasts will simply miss out on potentially more / better loot, we will not go back and reroll everyone’s loot!)
Basic rules / requirements:
– Up to two (2) expedition entries are allowed per day.
– Up to three (3) beasts per entry are allowed.
– Beast must be focusing on the activity.
– Please specify in the form above under “Relevant Items / Bonuses” if certain items, companions or traits should not be included when rolling the loot.
– The beast must have unlocked the island with the correct item. In order to unlock later islands you need to have the previous islands unlocked as well!
– Special case: Ancient Sabers gained through the Wandering Ancient Item. Since these beasts were born on Tetlcuamiztli Island they have it automatically unlocked. This does not apply for future islands though and even Ancient Sabers will need to have the correct items applied in order to unlock those islands.
– Ancient Sabers that were bred do not have this privilege as all beasts that were born through our breeding system are born on the main continent.
– Primals cannot be used for expedition entries. Exceptions: bonded Primals as long as their partner has unlocked the island.
– NPCs cannot be used alone for expedition entries either.
– They may accompany your beast though, as long as it as unlocked the island.
– Only the following NPCs may be added to your expedition entries: Abyss, Captain, Xanmeer, Nantli, Ichtaca and Dreknar.
– You may only add up to one (1) NPC or bonded Primal, it is not possible to have both in your entries.
– Donii and Ruda may be added for their bonuses alongside NPCs and bonded Primals as they do not bring back any loot
– Depending on the island, images must look like the biomes and show its characteristics (Jungles need to have jungle elements, mountains should be mountainous, etc.).
– Only one (1) entry per literature / image. If you submit an image with multiple panels for example you will be asked to divide the image into multiple entries.
– The entry may not be used for anything else besides the expedition activity (you cannot have it rolled as Monthly Quest for example)
– Expedition entries must be submitted to the “Expedition” gallery folder on Deviant Art.
Rules / requirements specifically for art:
– The beasts must be recognizable and display all their markings, even minimally.
– Must show at least 70% of your beast (Activity Ranges).
– Special Case Megaloceros: Males of this species loose their antlers during winter season! If your entry is depicted during winter season it is totally fine to leave the antlers away without them counting towards the 70% range.
– Visual works must be at least 500 x 500 pixels, or an equal dimension (exp: 400 x 600).
– Must have at least a semi-complex background (Image complexity).
– Must be colored. Shading is optional.
Rules / requirements specifically for literature:
– Must be at least 900 words.
– Beast must be mentioned frequently throughout (every 100-200 words).
– If collaborating, each person must write at least 500 words each.
